Oh my God! The brown gravy cake from hell! I know of several filmmakers who would love this cake for their next horror film. We could of used it in our film “Harvey Putter and the Ridiculous premise” for our cake scene.

Yeah, yeah. It’s bad. And you should have seen the trout I tried to wrap with “paper thin” sliced potatoes. Damn those Bon Appetit people.

I love your blog, Julia. It’s a fine and dandy Hoosier Cornball Hoot Fest!! I’m a Hoosier and a neighbor. I’m from Mishawaka and have a bunch of friends who are involved in making some of the most terrificly bad films you would ever see. Check the Harvey Putter trailer at http://www.harveyputter.com Hope you like it, and if you don’t who cares. Were going to keep making them whether the world is ready for them or not.

Kevin — just watched your trailer. What fun! I’m definitely ready for Harvey Putter! :-)

Thank you. We really enjoyed making it and it won’t come out till 2010. At the Dunkin Donuts in Goshen, I kinda hang with a group of retired conservatives and we always have some lively chats. I like to comment on some of the political issues of the day, but I’m not really that versed, but it’s fun.

Send some of those conservatives this way. The cross-pollination makes for a much better blog!

There pretty entrenched and most don’t have a computer. I’m far from being a conservative and more of a Luddite actually, yet I’m on the computer and that’s most unholy. I have a bad marriage with my computer and I find myself swearing at it most of the time. If there was a way to color in the shots of Harvey Putter like a coloring instead of rotoscoping them, I would be all about that.

I would say that my philosophical viewpoints are very unorthodox. I think that Americans and people in general work entirely too much. It’s interesting that you have Bertrand Russell qouted as he has written my Biblical credo which is “In Praise of Idleness.” Perhaps the greatest philosophical diatribe of all time.

    Interesting essay: http://www.zpub.com/notes/idle.html

I’m a fan of idleness too. And if a little less work would bring back peasant dances — all the better!

Great essay by Russel. Peasant dancing with very fine wines. Sounds like a recipe for lasciviousness. Count me in!
